This book is a must have for anyone preparing for the HSPT, definitely the best one out there. The book is very comprehensive and the author keeps it interesting, with a style that works for my twins as they prepare. I highly recommend.

I'm sure the book is fine. Getting your middle school kid to use it is another story.
I teach an HSPT class and just previewed this book. I'm going to purchase it for my students. Many of the other books on the market include three different tests which makes studying for just one very confusing. I like the practice sets at the end of each chapter as well as the detailed explanations. The format of the books follows the same flow as the actual HSPT. I think this will work very well in my classroom.
My son used this book to prepare for his high school entrance exam and was able to read it independently. There’s lots of practice material and he said the practice tests were just like the actual one! He scored in the 95th percentile!
