I absolutely love this series! The characters and their relationship dynamics are so emotional and complicated. There is a lot happening in this second book. Some questions are answered while many more others are unearthed.Ever mysterious and ever brooding Oz has decided to attach himself to Khara as if he were her shadow. And there are sure to be some fireworks when Hades finds out about this new "arrangement." This installment has a lot of Oz and Khara interaction and the sexual tension is building. There are times when they are mere inches from each other in the heat of a discussion and you keep waiting for someone to make a move. I'm not going to say if it ever happens as that would spoil the book for some but Amber is the queen of sexual tension/frustration with her characters.I am not sure how I feel about Oz or Persephone and this book didn't help me to decide. I am not sure if I want Khara to be with Oz and I am very leery of Persephone. I think both Oz and Persephone are selfish and I'm not sure if Khara can change this trait. I am in love with Kierson and I wanted (needed) more Kierson in this book. I am seriously looking forward to the next book. If you haven't read the first book of this series, go get it NOW and read it.
Unseen is the second book in the Unborn Series by Amber Lynn Natusch.The Underworld just got real in this book. Unseen picks up where Unborn left off. Khara has returned to the Underworld to seek answers about her mom and her being placed with her adoptive father, Hades. The Underworld is not how Khara left it. Chaos is everywhere. Plus her sister/stepmother, Persephone, is there, which is good for no one. Deimos is still terrorizing Khara wanting to own her. Oz, now a Dark One, is there as her protector and shadow. Unexpectedly, her brother’s join her in her quest for answers and are not happy she left their home in Detroit. We also meet Aery, a nymph. I like her.Hades is everything you think the God of the Underworld would not be. He is very loving to Khara, his princess. I enjoyed how Greek mythology vs. Christian faith played out in this book. I’ve always wondered where the other Gods were in the Caged Series and in the Unborn Series. Now I know. I think. You never know when Mrs. Natusch is going to reveal more information and knock your beliefs on their butt.Khara is one of my favorite bada$$ characters. She is different in Unseen. Since her “birthâ€, she is flooded with emotions that she doesn’t understand or know how to control. This is affecting her ability to make good decisions. She makes some questionable alliances in order to protect the ones she loves. The results are cataclysmic.Oz is rocking being a Dark One. He has abilities he didn’t have as a fallen. His wings are so cool! I love that scene. You’re never quite sure what Oz’s angle. He has his own rules he plays by and answers to no one, which does not sit well with Hades or Deimos. Believe it or not, he is now more protective of Khara than before. His scenes with Khara are filled with tension, the kind so good it curls your toes.Do we get the answers we are looking for? Not really. We also get more questions. But the ride of the book is incredible. I eagerly await the third book in the series.
Book twoKhara returns home to see her father Hades along with Oz who took her there. When Hades sees Khara he thinks she is dead, but alas no she is not (thank god!) So Khara discovers that Hades is having trouble, or so she is told. Her father tells her some things about her mother, but I have a feeling that Oz knows the answers, although he won't tell her. Hades does not want Oz with Khara at all! (I am thinking why? also...who is this Oz?? I mean don’t get me wrong I really like this character totally into the demon/angel thing! I just can’t wait to learn more about this guy!) Oz….*sighs….he kills me with his “I CAME FOR YOU†yeah, it’s like that! And …...Oh hell yes he did come for her!!!As Khara tries to find answers to all her questions about her mother and who she is, she is caught in a web by no other than Persephone, somehow Persephone convinces Khara that she needs to help her father (*ugh--insert NOOO!!! DON’T!!) ok let me explain that; if you read Caged you all know who/what I am talking about. If you haven’t let's just say that Persephone is an opportunist and she is ruthless. LIES LIES LIES!!! Never believe or trust that one!Khara gets herself in some deep s**t here! She still has to deal with Deimos, that one well ok so I know he is all bad and stuff but, what if there is another angel to him? Like what if there is more to him then we are seeing here? I don’t know just wanted to throw that in the mix! Ok so Khara has new things going on with her and her abilities are still developing I think she will be a force to be reckoned with. I can NOT wait till book 3, you are killing me here….slowly…….and I think I like it!! lol…..ok peeps go!!! go get this now!!!
I don't think I have ever read a heroine I wanted to slap more than Khara . She sounds and acts more like a hormonal twelve-year-old than the centuries old Princess of the Underworld. And Good Lord!!! Hades is a wimp. I hated the first book in the series and could kick my butt for wasting my time with this disaster.
