I’ve read this book twice, as well as shared it with my therapist. It’s life-changing and thought provoking. I highly recommend everyone read this. Whether or not you were a wounded child; these exercises will give you incredible insight and desire to make true changes. It's hard to bring up old wounds, but with these exercises, you can do so delicately and with purpose.
I downloaded this onto my tablet and I will be honest with you I am not a big reader at all, I typically don't have patience to get through an entire book but once I started reading this and reflecting in parts I finally had to force myself to stop so I could go to bed. Although I didn't write anything down I did do them in my head so I am looking forward to going back over those parts and writing them down on paper. I can't wait to see where the rest of it goes. So many things I can relate to you with. Often times we tell ourselves we are OK and we're over it when in reality we just lock it away and repress the memory and feelings rather than dealing with them and healing them. Thank you Ricky for being such an inspiration!

At the end of each chapter, he includes prompts and experiential directives to explore and deepen one's own healing process.
This book is much needed and very helpful for those of us who had a not so happy or traumatic childhood. I have learned so much about myself since reading this book and doing some of the exercises. They are very thought provoking and bring up a lot of emotions. They help you understand why you react the way you do now, and why certain actions, words or people affect you negatively.
